Rooney saw his former teammate criticize him during the now-infamous Piers Morgan interview, which aired just before the 2022 World Cup.

Pier Morgan, who hosted the interview asked Ronaldo if he thought that Rooney was jealous of him, he replied: “Probably, because he finished his career in his 30s. I’m still playing at a high level, I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him, which is true.”

That was heavily condemned by football fans, but other fans thought that was Ronaldo spitting facts, but Rooney did not let that get to him.
