The accomplished athlete has made remarkable progress throughout the course, demonstrating a commendable level of dedication.

Rooney reportedly delivered a final presentation to obtain his Pro Licence, which is a significant milestone in his coaching journey.

He assumed the position of Derby County manager in 2021 at the age of 37, choosing to take on the managerial job without obtaining his coaching badges beforehand.

Despite this, he maintained his determination to pursue his studies and successfully did so while also serving as the head coach of MLS team DC United last year.

It is understood that he had to make a final presentation before he could be eligible to get a Pro Licence.

Successfully completing this examination marks a significant step towards Rooney’s aspirations of returning to British soccer as a manager, especially considering his contract with DC United concludes at the end of the current MLS season.

The former England national team captain had expressed his elation having obtained his UEFA Pro License.

Rooney took to his Instagram and Twitter pages to announce his latest achievement while also appreciating Neil Bailey’s effort in making his dream a reality.

He wrote: “Delighted to have finally completed my UEFA Pro License. Was a long process that goes back years into my playing days. Want to thank Neil Bailey for all his help over the years”.

Wayne Rooney’s future at MLS uncertain

The 37-year-old former England’s captain Wayne Rooney expressed his desire to extend his contract at Audi Field.

However, as the end of his current deal approaches quickly, it seems that his future in MLS is uncertain.

Wayne Rooney has expressed his frustrations regarding the lack of progress in talks over a potential new contract at D.C. United.

The Manchester United legend has been managing the Major League Soccer (MLS) team since last year and his current contract with the team in the US capital is scheduled to end this December.

In July, the 37-year-old and his agent, Paul Stretford, approached the club’s hierarchy to discuss the possibility of extending his contract.

However, discussions regarding a new agreement have not made any progress since the initial proposal from the former Manchester United player’s side.

As the regular season in MLS nears its end, it is evident that Rooney is eager to have his future resolved.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Rooney expressed his concern about the absence of any progress regarding his contract.

He declared his slight disappointtment and frustration regarding the lack of contact for the past two months.

He said: “We inquired about a new deal. We would like to schedule a meeting to discuss the matter as we have not received a response yet.”

“I am capable of handling any situation, regardless of the circumstances. I had hoped that we would have discussed it in some way, but unfortunately, that hasn’t happened.”
