Virgil van Dijk has urged Liverpool to sign in-form Brighton and Hove Albion forward Evan Ferguson.
Virgil van Dijk has seen the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain exit the club this summer.
Liverpool were also busy in the summer transfer window and signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.
Liverpool are reportedly one of the clubs interested in signing highly-rated Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson.
Brighton sold Moises Caicedo for a British record fee of £115 million, and many believe that Ferguson will cost more than the Ecuadorian.
Virgil van Dijk praised the Irishman after he had a face off with the Brighton forward during the International break.
Virgil van Dijk, speaking on the Brighton player, said: “If you score a hat-trick just before the international break, then he was definitely going to be in a good shape and full of confidence.”
“He looks like he’s a promising striker for Ireland for now and the future, and that’s definitely a big blow for them. But whoever is going to play tomorrow for them, we have to be ready to fight.”
He went on to add: “I know at home with their fans and their position and the situation that they are in, they will do everything in their power to hopefully make it difficult for us, but we have to be ready and I will be ready.”
Despite Virgil van Dijk wanting the star at Liverpool, Paul Barber noted that: “In Evan’s case, it’ll be in at least five years’ time.”

Evan Joe Ferguson is an Irish footballer who was born on 19th October, 2004 and plays as a striker for Brighton & Hove Albion and the Republic of Ireland national team.
Ferguson is a native of Bettystown, County Meath, and he is a son of former professional footballer Barry Ferguson who played for Coventry City, Colchester United, Hartlepool United, Northampton Town, Longford Town, Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers and Sporting Fingal during his playing career.
Ferguson’s mother is English, and he grew up supporting Manchester United and also attended Coláiste na hInse while growing up.
