Vinicius Junior discloses Perez as his ‘biggest fan’

    Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Junior has disclosed that the club president, Florentino Perez has gained his trust, hence the Spanish politician has given him the support as his ‘biggest fan’.

    The Brazilian disclosed this while talking to journalists ahead of the first leg of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions league against Italian side Atalanta. He was expressing his feelings about his current situation, as he had unfettered support from the club.

    Vinicius, who will turn 21, next July, started his football career at the tender age of six was put into football classes with Flamengo in Brazil. He made his debut for the Brazilian club in 2017, scoring his first professional goal for the side in the same year against a Brazilian opponent Palestino in a 5-0 win for Flamengo.


    The dark-skinned player appended his signature for Real Madrid in the year he scored his first-ever goal at the age of 18 at a fee of 46 million euros, the second most expensive sale in the history of Brazilian football behind Neymar Jr.


    He made his Madrid debut as a substitute against Atletico Madrid in 2018, becoming the first-ever player at the club to be born in 2000. The Sao Goncalo-born made his first start against Melilla in a Copa del Rey match, 4-0 it ended for Los Blancos. He scored his first goal against Barcelona as the Spanish side snatched a 2-0 win.


    “I’ve got 100% of Madrid’s trust, Zidane’s trust, and also my teammates’ and the president’s. He always gives me strength and support and tells me he’s my biggest fan after my own family,” Vinicius told TNT Sports.


    He admitted that he has embraced every pressure faced by him and he’s fully confident that he will overcome all of it, to cement his place in the first eleven at Santiago Bernabeu.


    “It’s always a big responsibility to play for Real Madrid, the greatest club in the world. But everyone in the club and my family give me peace so that I can only worry about playing. I’m close to reaching a hundred games for the club and I want to play 200, 300, or more for this club,” he narrated.

    “He tells me to be calm and to never stop taking risks. He always talks to me; he’s a great person who’s always happy. It’s a dream to play with him,” Vinicius speaks of Hazard as he replaces the injured Belgian.


    Real Madrid will be without Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema due to the injury they have sustained. Thibaut Courtois will be in between the sticks for Madrid, with Raphael Varane will be leading the defense with no presence of Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos in the squad named by Zinedine Zidane.
    There is a new face added to the squad ahead of the UCL encounter which Mariano Diaz which is like to be a stand-by for the Benzema. There are familiar faces in the middle of the park, as Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemeiro will be paraded ahead of the tie with Atalanta.

    Real Madrid are three points behind league leaders, Atletico Madrid, as they will hope to be leveled with their arch-rival when they play Real Sociedad.
