Victor Osimhen scored for Napoli against Udinese after he refused to take a penalty following the club’s TitTok saga.

The 24-year-old was included in the squad’s starting XI despite a recent confrontation with the team manager Rudi Garcia over the weekend.

The Nigerian red-hot striker has been in a snowy mood with the current Serie A champions since their last outing.

The crisis began after a viral video about the former LOSC Lille frontman was posted on the club’s official TikTok page making jest of Victor Osimhen due to his penalty miss against Bologna in a Serie A match on Sunday, 24th of September.

The U-17 FIFA World Cup winner was illustrated in the clip as a coconut with a sarcastic voice mocking him before they later deleted the video.

The Nigerian frontman responded by deleting everything related to the club on his social media handle except for a place where he pays tribute to the late Diego Maradona.

Victor Osimhen snubbed his teammates

Victor Osimhen appeared unhappy when he arrived at Napoli’s team hotel on Wednesday, 27th of September, and even avoided some of his teammates including Piotr Zielinski and Diego Demme.

The 24-year-old looked far from comfortable following the team TikTok video saga.

However, a shot video emerged on Wednesday evening where Osimhen was seen ignoring his teammates as he arrived at the club hotel before their match against Udinese.

The clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) showing the 24-year-old striker walking past his teammates including Diogo Demme and Piotr Zielinski without even altering a word with Zielinski even stretching his hands for a handshake.

The Nigerian International was outstanding for the Italian team last season, helping them overcome a 33-year trophy drought with his goal-scoring ability.

The 24-year-old striker secured a goal in the Serie A game against Udinese on Wednesday, 27th of September despite the recent ongoing drama and harsh relationship with the club.

Victor Osimhen ended his four-game goal drought but abstained from celebrating the goal after he scored Napoli’s second goal of the game.

The striker had the opportunity to put Napoli ahead against the visiting team after they were given a penalty but he passed the ball over to Piotr Zielinski who opened the scoring for the home team

Osimhen’s humanity was rewarded later in the match when he comfortably launched Napoli’s second goal of the night.

The striker was played through on goal by Italian player Matteo Politano and kept his confidence to finish with a strong shot across the front of Marco Silvestri’s goal.

The 24-year-old Nigerian striker ran over to the Napoli bench to hug new signing Jesper Lindstrom in his wide celebration, ignoring head coach Rudi Garcia.

What’s next for Victor Osimhen?

The Nigerian striker will be back in action for Napoli in a Serie A match when they lock horns against Lecce on Saturday, 30th of September and he’ll be looking forward to seeing the back of the net again.
