The Blues were reportedly unwilling to meet the wage demands of Osimhen, and as such a deal could not be brokered between both parties.
Chelsea had been keen on signing a striker this summer to sort out their goal-scoring issues, and they indicated their interest to Brentford for the services of Ivan Toney and Napoli for Victor Osimhen.
However, the Stamford Bridge club have failed in their hunt for both players, with Toney apparently moving to Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli and Osimhen remaining with the Neapolitans.
Reports indicate that Victor Osimhen has informed Napoli that he no longer intends to play for the Serie A side after he failed to complete a move to Chelsea.
He had also previously agreed on a deal with Al Ahli, but the move couldn’t materialize after the Saudi Arabian club couldn’t reach an agreement with Napoli over a transfer fee.
According to reports, the Stamford Bridge club offered a wage of £130,000 per week to Osimhen but the Nigeria international rejected the deal.
There have also been speculations that Napoli boss Antonio Conte is unwilling to work with Victor Osimhen and that is the reason why the club opted to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
It will be fascinating to see how the coming months unfold, if Osimhen doesn’t move to Saudi Arabia, as their 2024 summer transfer window ends on October 6, 2024.
The wantaway attacker has not featured for the Naples-based club this campaign, as he has been absent from their match day squad for their first two games of the 2024/25 Serie A season.
