Victor Osimhen, Napoli talisman, has been identified as the main target and player to replace aging Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United if he leaves in the summer.

Manchester United have chosen Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the main guy who may replace Cristiano Ronaldo up front in the summer, according to Rai Sports journalist Ciro Venerato (Daily Mail).
Ronaldo returned to United in a spectacular summer deal, as the Portugal captain returned to the club where he earned his name following three years with Juventus in Italy.
Despite kicking off the season with a brace in his second appearance for the club, Ronaldo has failed to reach the heights anticipated of him since, scoring only once in the Red Devils’ last several games.
Over the last few weeks, the ex-Real Madrid player has appeared disgruntled and low on confidence, which may worry some supporters. Ronaldo only managed to hit the post against relegation-threatened Watford at Old Trafford on the weekend, as his side drew 0-0.
Summer blockbuster transfer
His age, at 37, could be a role in why the Portuguese attacker has slowed. Physically, the attacker is still in top form, having started practically every game for United this season. On the field, though, the Ballon D’Or winner is having trouble finding the back of the net, which is something he has rarely had trouble with in the past.

For this reason, United’s interest in Osimhen is well-founded, but the Manchester club will have to pay a stunning £84 million to persuade Napoli to sell its Nigerian striker.
The Serie A club has set a record price for a 22-year-old striker, and it remains to be seen whether this would hinder United’s pursuit of the striker. However, with their present dearth of goals up front, they are in desperate need of a striker, and the Nigerian might be the man to remedy this problem for them next season.
At the moment, Manchester United is counting on Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani to score goals. Both of these players are over 35 years old, and a Premier League powerhouse like United will require more depth and quality to compete with the other clubs.

So yet, there is no indication that Ronaldo will leave Manchester United this summer. Cavani, on the other hand, might leave at the end of the season when his contract with Man United expires. If that is the case, we will be left with only Ronaldo as our lone striker, and he, too, is not in great form right now.
With his performances for Napoli this season, Osimhen has turned heads in Italy, and he could very well win a move to England to play for United. Anthony Martial’s loan to Sevilla demonstrates where he is in Man United’s pecking order, and Osimhen might be a helpful addition if the club is preparing for a future without Martial as a regular starter.
