Victor Osimhen has been in a scintillating form this season as he becomes the first Nigerian to score more than 20 goals in a single season.
The Nigerian international is generally regarded as one of the best young strikers in the world, but how many goals has he actually scored?
Victor Osimhen, a star for Napoli, has been in the news for all the right reasons lately thanks to his outstanding performances for the Serie A team.
His impressive goal-scoring record has caught the attention of some of Europe’s richest clubs, with teams like Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea all expressing interest in hiring him soon.

Victor Osimhen
Victor James Osimhen, a striker for Serie A side Napoli and the Nigerian national team, was born in Nigeria on December 29, 1998.
He is recognized as one of the top strikers in the world and is well known for his elite finishing, strength, and athleticism.
Osimhen, a Nigerian-born player, started his senior career in Germany in 2017 with VfL Wolfsburg.
After spending a season and a half with the team, he moved on loan to Charleroi in Belgium in 2018–19 before joining Lille in France.
Osimhen moved to Serie A team Napoli in 2020 for a club-record €70 million. In the 2021–22 season, he was named the Best Young Player in Serie A.
In 2015, Osimhen was given the FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden Boot award, which Nigeria won. He participated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and made his senior international debut in June 2017. He presently ranks eighth all-time among Nigeria’s national team’s goal scorers.
Osimhen goals in total for club and country
Osimhen, a footballing unicorn in many aspects, is an athletic, contemporary, and powerful striker with a keen eye for goal, a direct style of play, and average hold-up and link-up play skills. He will demand payment if you give him a yard in the box.
He also possesses excellent aerial ability, the speed and acceleration to outrun his marker, and the ability to overcome defenders with ease. As a result, he possesses a rare combination of skills and is therefore in high demand. It makes sense why so many large sharks are interested in his services.
Osimhen has a contract with Naples that runs through 2025, but it looks like the Partenopei’s resolve to cling onto their star striker will soon be put to the test.
In the following months, the calls will start flowing in, and teams will be lined up to sign the Napoli hitman.
He will not, however, be inexpensive in any way. Since club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is known for striking a hard bargain when selling his greatest possessions, it would be a big surprise if he went for anything less than the €100 million level.
If Napoli finally ends their lengthy Scudetto drought this season, his stock will undoubtedly soar even higher.
Overall, Osimhen is quickly becoming a striker of the highest caliber, and it will be interesting to follow his goal-scoring antics since he is certain to shatter several records at both the club and international levels.
