Victor Moses Down with Achilles Injury, Out for Six Months

Victor Moses, a former Super Eagles winger, will be out for an extended period after tearing his Achilles while competing for club team Spartak Moscow. 

After suffering the injury during the team’s 2-0 victory over the Ural on Saturday in the Russian Premier League, the 31-year-old will need surgery. 

The former Chelsea winger, who has been heavily linked with a move back to England in recent months, has scored twice in four league games this year. 

Moses is anticipated to miss six months, according to Spartak, the most successful club in Russia. 

Before going to Russia in July 2021, Moses scored 18 goals in 128 games for Chelsea, helping the club win the Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup at Stamford Bridge. 

He stopped playing for his country in 2018, but former Nigerian coach Augustine Eguavoen attempted to get him back in the Super Eagles lineup in March but the coach was sacked before the plan could materialize.
