Victor Cantillo has been forced to deny that he is cheating on his wife after it was claimed that he accommodated a mistress in his apartment.
It has been claimed that the Corinthians player held a party in his home while his wife Geraldine Pineda was at her parents’ abode.
The 29-year-old has denied allegations leveled against him, and he is now making efforts to clear his name.
Victor Cantillo is married to Geraldine Pineda, and the pair have two children together.
A viral video was shared on social media by Monaliny Soares who claimed to be the mistress of Cantillo.
Footage that surfaced on the internet showed the DJ taking a walk around an apartment, and she was seen wearing only a dressing gown.
Monaliny Soares in the course of her filming, also took a video of a picture which was presumed to be of Victor Cantillo and his family.
The much talked about video was captioned: “And this betrayal? Corinthians player Cantillo didn’t really care about taking me to his house with everything from his wife.”
Cantillo has claimed that the video was made in an attempt to “hamper the stability” of his family.
In a lengthy statement shared by the Colombian star, he also requested “for respect for the privacy of my home.”
Victor Cantillo denies cheating on his wife
The former Junior FC midfielder wrote: “In the last few hours, information has emerged that seeks to harm the stability of my wife and two children.
“I categorically reject that intention and ask for respect for the privacy of my home.
“After the repercussions of an old video circulating on the networks, my family and I will preserve our personal issues, without exposure.”
Victor Cantillo also stressed that he remains focused on his career, and “focused” on the task ahead for Corinthians FC.
Corinthians sit 11th in the Brazilian Serie A, with 30 points from 24 matches, winning 7, drawing 9, and losing 8.
The People’s Team are in the semi-final of the Copa Sudamericana, and they have a second-leg battle with Fortaleza on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
The encounter is currently tied, and both sides will be looking to get the upper hand in the second leg.
Meanwhile, Monaliny has further strengthened her claims in an interview with Brazilian magazine, Quem.
The DJ claimed that she slept in his apartment with Victor Cantillo, after his wife, Geraldine Pineda had embarked on a trip with her parents.
Monaliny Soares said: “His wife had gone on a trip with her parents and he sent me a message that he was going to have a party at his apartment with friends and acquaintances.
“So we stayed there and slept in the apartment with him. In his and his wife’s room.”
Cantillo joined Corinthians from Junior FC on January 9, 2020, for a fee of €2.7 million, and he has made 114 appearances for the club, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists in all competitions.
