Nigeria international Victor Boniface has expressed his displeasure over his EA FC 25 rating card recently released.
In footage shared in his club Bayer Leverkusen’s Instagram handle, the 23-year-old blurted, “They don’t rate me.”
The Nigerian forward was seen alongside teammates Jeremy Frimpong and Edmound Tapsoba, reacting to his player rating card in the footage.
The 82 rating allotted to Victor Boniface didn’t seem to impress him. “I see it from here, 82; they don’t rate,” Boniface commented before asking, “Who rates this card?” His teammates informed him it was FIFA (now EA FC).
The striker would go on to express his displeasure over his 66 passing rating. “How will you give me 66 for passing when I have almost 10 assists?” Boniface questioned, clearly frustrated.
Seeming to share the Nigerian forward’s sentiments, Jeremie Frimpong highlighted the forward ability to give a ‘no-look pass’ and jokingly stated that the forward also sometimes gives a pass while closing his eyes.
Clearly expressing his disapproval of the rating, Boniface blurted, “Nah nah nah, it’s bullshit.”
Boniface performances for Bayern Leverkusen
His reaction to his rating, however, is understandable, as it greatly undermines the efforts the Nigerian put in for his team last season.
The 23-year-old was massively influential in Bayern Leverkusen’s brilliant domestic campaign last season, helping the team to a domestic double. His standout performances for the Die Werkself saw him bag four consecutive Rookie of the Month award at the start of the campaign.
However, his terrific individual run with the club was marred with injury which ruled him out of action for 84 days.
Meanwhile, he had played a crucial part in the team’s run to the UEFA Europa League final, scoring five times and setting up his teammates once in eight appearances. The team missed out on the title to Atalanta but Boniface’s impressive debut campaign with the club did not go unnoticed. He contributed 30 goals in 34 games at the end of the campaign.
He will be looking to replicate the performance as Bayer Leverkusen prepare to defend the title this season.
Meanwhile, can we categorically say EA FC 25 underrated Victor Boniface? Note he is particularly fuming with his 66 rating in passing.
From available stats, Victor Boniface recorded an assist in the 2024-25 Europa League and 8 in the Bundesliga. He tallied nine assists in the campaign. EA FC 24 ratings are based on real-life performances by footballers.
They are calibrated on a scale of 1-99 on key footballing skills such as passing abilities, shooting, defense, and others. The ratings have always been controversial for some players who deem they have done enough to deserve better cards.
However, it has been the most sought-after index over the years to measure and evaluate footballers capabilities. The grudging acceptance has done little to limit the widespread acceptance of the pecking for players among football fans.
EA FC 25 ratings
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe and Manchester City defensive midfielder Rodri and his teammate Erling Haaland are the highest-ranked footballers in EA FC 25 with a score card of 91. They are closely followed by Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Kevin De Bruyne, and Harry Kane with 90 points each. See full ratings in our earlier report here.
