VFL Wolfsburg have confirmed the purchase of a 21-year-old right-back, Kilian Fischer from Nurnberg.
The young defender ended his relationship with Nurnberg to sign a five-year contract with VFL Wolfsburg which will expire in the summer of 2027.
VFL Wolfsburg sporting director, Marcel Schäfer said: “Kilian has been under great and rapid development. He is highly talented, physically strong, has a lot of speed as well as a very professional attitude. He is ready to take the next step in his career in the Bundesliga.
“We are very pleased that he has chosen VFL Wolfsburg and fully identifies with our ideas and goals.”
Kilian Fischer joined Nurnberg in 2021 from Türkgücü Munich after they were promoted to the third division of the German League.
The young right-back played a total of 22 games across all competitions for Nurnberg and still managed to provide 2 assists for his teammates. The Miltenberg-born defender can play in the defensive midfield role as well as the left-back position.
He has also been given the number 2 shirt and will play an active role in Wolfsburg’s first team under Niko Kovac.
After it was confirmed that he has signed for the Wolves, Kilian Fischer said “The conditions in Wolfsburg are unbelievable for a young player. Here you can develop at a top-level in a quiet environment. And that’s exactly my goal: to take the next steps here and become a Bundesliga player.”
He will now join Patrick Wimmer and Jakub Kaminski, as they also recently completed their transfers to VFL Wolfsburg. Note that Kilian Fischer is their third addition to the first-team squad this summer and there are still many more to come, as the Wolves are not slowing down anytime soon.
VFL Wolfsburg are now looking to mount a serious challenge for Champions league qualification after they finished in the bottom half of the Bundesliga standings.
