Valencia reportedly puts the whole squad up for sale except defender Jose Gaya.

    The COVID-19 pandemic seems to have hit Spanish club Valencia the hardest as they are in a dire financial situation and resulted in putting all their players on the transfer market.

    According to Spanish news site Marca, the club seems to be on the brink of bankruptcy and need to get some cash inflow fast by selling some of its players in order to balance their account book.

    Francis Coquelin is the latest player to be sold to rival Villarreal for a fee believed to be 6 million pounds in a desperate move to raise funds. Ferran Torres believed to be one of the brightest youngsters in the club was also sold to Man City for a fee reported for 20 million pounds. Coquelin played 36 times for the club in a turbulent season.

    While Valencia player maker Dani Parejo has completed his transfer to Villarreal joining Coquelin from Valencia. Three players have already been sold with the transfers on its own receiving so much criticism from the fans;

    Fans have also come for the club owner Peter Lim over the management of the club as they feel the club’s fund has badly been misappropriated, with the club’s Nou Mestalla stadium uncompleted.

    The club finished 9th on the league table with Marcelino during his spell before he was replaced with Albert Celades in July, suffered one of its worse performance in the league in recent times. At the same time, the club has hired Javi Gracia, former Watford manager, as the club manager.

    Barcelona, Real Madrid, and other European clubs are all hoping to get a discount offer from the embattled Spanish club.

    However, Gaya as been exempted from the rush-hour sales by the club as the club see him as a captain material, and the club high chief wants to keep him at the club.
