Real Madrid doubled its lead after Vinicius put the ball past Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. Real Madrid had all the chances to put the game to bed, but they were wasteful in the final third.

The game became so easy for the La Blancos after Paulista was sent off in the 72nd minute. Real Madrid had never lost to Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu in the past 15 years.
