USA qualified for the knockout round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar thanks to a goal from Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic.

The goal scorer Pulisic was replaced by Brendon Aaronson in the second half, hence, he did not return after the break.
Mohammadi and Azmoun were replaced by Karimi and Ghoddos for Iran on the opposing team.
Sargent had an early opportunity for the USA in the second half, but his shot was weak and went straight to Beiranvand.
The USA took the initiative as the game resumed where it left off. Weston McKennie was visible everywhere.
In addition to picking up many loose balls, his distribution was excellent. He was the best player for the USA in the match, along with Dest.
Despite having 9 minutes added to the game, USA wins 1-0 and advances to the Round of 16!
