The Premier League is the most-watched soccer league in the world and is hugely popular in the United States of America due to the number of US soccer players plying their trade in the league.
On August 5, the 2022–23 season begins, and many Americans will be glued to their televisions or local bars to watch some of the best club soccer around. Despite a decline in American involvement over the past ten years, US soccer players have always found success in the Premier League.
Here are the eight top US soccer players on Premier League teams this season.
1. Christian Pulisic – Chelsea
Born on Sep 18, 1998, Christian Pulisic is regarded as the best American player in the English Premier League now. The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2020. Pulisic already has a Champions League and Club World Cup title to his name. The American has played 114 games for the Blues, scoring 25 goals and assisting 18 times. Pulisic will be one of the important players to look up to in the United States Men’s National Team when they travel to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup in November.
2. Zack Steffen – Manchester City
Manchester City’s second-choice goalkeeper Zack Steffen comes second on the top US soccer players in the Premier League now. Although he is currently linked with a move away from Man City, Steffen has always been a backup to Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson. However, the American is searching for more playing time to get called into the USA world cup squad. Man City has already gotten a replacement for Zack Steffen and his departure from the club is just a matter of time.
3. Brenden Aaronson – Leeds United
Former RB Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson joined Leeds United in the current summer transfer window. The player who can play in any position in the midfield is yet to make an appearance for the English Premier League club. However, he’s expected to travel with Leeds for their pre-season games ahead of next season. The 21-year-old already has a CONCACAF Nations League medal to his name.
4. Matt Turner – Arsenal
New Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner is another player from the United States of America who would be seen in the Premier League next season. The 28-year-old joined the Gunners on a £5 million deal from New England. Matt Turner already has 18 caps for the USA national team.
5. Tim Ream – Fulham
34-year-old Tim Ream joined Fulham from Bolton in 2015. The American center-back has made many appearances for the London club and helped them to secure promotion into the English Premier League last season. Tim Ream was also part of the United States Men National Team that won the CONCACAF Nations League 2020.
6. Antonee Robinson – Fulham
Fulham are known to always have players from the United States and Antonee Robinson has written his name on that list. Robinson joined the London club from Wigan in 2019 and was in charge of the left-back position as they earn a promotion into EPL. The 24-year-old has only played in 28 English Premier League games and looks further to increase the number from next season.
7. Matt Miazga – Chelsea
American center-back Matt Miazga joined Chelsea in 2016 but has been on loan deals to clubs like Vitesse, FC Nantes, Reading, RSC Anderlecht, and Alavés since then. The 26-year-old may get the opportunity to be part of Thomas Tuchel’s team next season as the club is in search of a center-back. Although he hasn’t made an appearance for the Blue, Matt Miazga won the UEFA Super Cup with the club last season.
8. Tyler Adams – Leeds United
Tyler Adams is the latest player to join Leeds United this summer and he’s also an American. The 23-year-old defensive midfield made the switch from RB Leipzig and he’s expected to be a replacement for Kalvin Philips who left the club this summer.

Adams would look further to playing during the pre-season games with his new club before their English Premier League campaign kicks off.
