Frank Lampard led Chelsea team is looking forward to strengthening the ranks of the attacking force as they make an approach to contact Arsenal in a bid to explore the possibility of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Blues had just come out of a two-window transfer ban which blocked them from making any signings. They came out of the ban in January but still refused to make any major signings. It is however glaring that Frank Lampard was waiting for the best time to make major signings.

The former Chelsea player now turned coach will utilize the summer to sign major deals that will help build the team to become title contender again. Evidently, one of the major positions that need to be intensified is the attacking flank with Tammy Abraham most likely to be the only attacker the club will have after Olivier Giroud has been linked with a transfer to Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has an opportunity of signing the Gabonese attacker because his contract with Gunners is expected to expire in summer. Moreso, Arsenal have recently changed their transfer approach, they would rather sell their players to make more cash than allow them to exit the club on a free transfer.

Football analysts have estimated Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer fee to worth about £50 million which is way lesser to Moussa Dembele who was the major prospect of the West London club, however, his transfer fee is reportedly worth £70 million.

Aubameyang is expected to have a chat with the club bosses to discuss a contract extension when the 2019/20 season is about to end. Unfortunately, the coronavirus outbreak has put a temporary stop to football activities in the league which has caused all activities to be put on hold.

While the Chelsea deal seemed to be a perfect option for the Gabon attacker, what seemed to be a little disadvantage is the age of the striker. Aubameyang 30 is fast approaching the ending of his football career, apparently, he might not last long enough in Stamford Bridge if the deal should click.
