Liverpool are on the verge of sealing a transfer deal with Ben Davies, a 25-year-old center-defender who plays for a Championship side, Preston.

The English football star has completed his medical with Liverpool and the reigning Premier League champions might announce him as the club’s new signing before the close of the January transfer window tonight, 11 PM BST.

Before now, it was looking more likely that Ben Davies would join Rangers FC rather than Liverpool but recent transfer reports revealed that Liverpool have agreed on a transfer deal with Preston which would see them pay the Championship side £1.1million including add-ons.

As it stands, Liverpool will pay Preston £500,000 upfront before they can complete the signing of Ben Davies. Besides that, Liverpool are bound to pay Preston 20-percent of any profit they make in selling the defender in the future.

Before Liverpool came for the signature of the defender, Ben Davies had made 145 appearances for Preston in which he scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists.

On the other hand, Arsenal football club have agreed on a loan deal with West Bromwich Albion for midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

West Brom won the bid to sign Maitland-Niles on loan ahead of Leicester City and Southampton that have been in discussion with Arsenal but the North London club decided to give West Brom the advantage.

According to reports, Arsenal decided to give Ainsley Maitland-Niles to West Brom in an attempt to avoid strengthening Southampton and Leicester City that are seen as parts of Arsenal’s major rivals in the Premier League this season.

The transfer deal between Maitland-Niles and West Brom is expected to be sealed before the January transfer window closes tonight, 11 PM BST.

Maitland-Niles’s loan deal with West Brom will last until the end of the 2020-2021 season. He expects to get more game time and play in his preferred central midfield role when he joins West Brom.
