Arsenal has been struggling with domestic form- a contrast to their form in Europe where they have maintained a 100 percent record and created several chances – and here comes the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur!

With such an event, one begins to wonder the reason behind’s Arsenal lack of chances in the Premier League. Once they switch to Thursday night, you see an Arsenal side that is playing with fluidity and aggressiveness that also produced many chances. But it has been the other way round in the Premier League.

Since securing a 1-0 at Old Trafford, Arsenal has found it hard to really get going domestically. With such form, the North London Derby could have said to have come at the wrong time for the Gunners. But to the team’s skipper, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has only scored three goals this season, it could be a turning point.

It could be said that Arsenal has passed the big test in Premier League so far with a win against Manchester United and a good performance against City despite losing 1-0. But the game will be much bigger this time around because this the north London derby – the region bragging right.

The Gabonese believe that securing bragging rights could help to turn Arsenal’s domestic fortunes around this season.

“I can’t wait anymore. I think this is the game that we have to understand is going to be the turning point for us for this season. What’s better than the derby?

“I think if we win this game, everyone is going to maybe change their mindset and yes, as I said it’s going to be the turning point of the season, and there’s no better game than a derby to do it.

“It’s going to lift everyone if we win this game. We know it’s going to be a tough game, they are playing well at the moment to tell the truth, but we have to care about our game, how we want to play the game, so it’s all about us if we want it or not.

“So we are just waiting for this game and we are going to try to give everything to win this game and change the situation,” he told Arsenal Media.

Tottenham v Arsenal: Mikel Arteta can’t wait for for North London derby to hapen

Having pointed out that he is not worried about his future as the club as the job is about hiring and firing, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta can’t wait to face Jose Mourinho again.

Their last meeting ended in a 2-1 loss here. The Spaniard can’t therefore wait to take his pound of flesh and get Arsenal back to winning ways.

Spurs had already defeated Manchester City on this ground last month. This could be the confidence booster they need to overcome a city rival that is currently struggling to find its feet again.

Arteta wants Noorth London derby

Relishing the the occasion during his playing days, Arteta noted that recent results have not gone Arsenal’s way in the Premier League.

“This is why we are here, to play these types of games. If you ask me my favourite types of games when I was a player here, for sure I’ll tell you it’s the north London derby.

“It’s a unique atmosphere, it’s a lot of passion and feelings involved. Emotionally, it’s a special game and you live. When you win it, you know the satisfaction that you bring to people, which is very necessary in these moments when people are suffering and having difficult times.

“We have that ability to make people happy, so let’s give everything to try to bring that to them,” Arteta said.
