    One of the biggest clubs in the Premier League is Tottenham Hotspur. The club founded in 1882 is based in Tottenham, north London, England. The club which was formed by a group of schoolboys was renamed to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in 1884.

    FutballNews understands that the club is owned by both Lewis Joe and Daniel Levy, who is seen in most Spurs matches. Joe owns 70.4% of the club through Enic International Limited while Levy and the family own the remaining 29.4%.

    The club made history by becoming the first British team to win a European trophy and also winning the first UEFA Cup ever organized. Spurs have also won eight FA Cups, four League Cups, one Cup Winners’ Cup and two UEFA Cups. Tottenham can also boast of winning two League titles in 1951 and 1961.

    The north London moved to their new home ground called Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April 2019. The new stadium which has a capacity of 62,062 replaced their former home White Hart Lane which has a capacity of 36,000. The old stadium was demolished to make way for the new stadium on the same site.

    A section of the North Stand was removed to allow building work on the new stadium to proceed next to the old stadium. The removal of part of the stand reduced the capacity of the stadium, and European matches were held at Wembley Stadium for the 2016–17 season to comply with the ticketing requirement for European games.

    Tottenham have played in a first (home) strip of white shirts and navy blue shorts since the 1898–99 season. The club’s emblem is a cockerel standing upon a football, with a Latin motto Audere est Facere (“To Dare Is to Do”).

    In the summer of 2018, Tottenham sold Kyle Walker and Nabil Bentaleb amongst others and made around £8million profit. They also bought in a number of players such as Fernando Llorente, Serge Aurier and Davinson Sanchez to stabilize the team.

    The club shocked their fans by sacking their former manager Mauricio Pochettino after a disastrous start to the campaign, despite the Argentinean guiding them to the Champions League final last season. A few hours after his sack, the club appointed Jose Mourinho and made him the second-highest-paid manager in world football, The Portuguese earns an eye-watering £15m per year after Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola who takes home £20m per year.

    Meanwhile, Spurs have the 6th highest wage bill in the  League of £100 million. Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea lead them on the payroll raking. The club has a strict wage structure in place to ensure their wage bill does not exceed a certain amount as revealed by Sportrac.

    England captain Harry Kane is the highest-paid player in Tottenham. The forward who pockets £200,000-per-week. The club’s vice-captain earns more than double his weekly salary in the last two years because of his red hot form.

    Surprisingly, young midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who joined Spurs from Lyon, also earns £200,000-per-week. The Frenchman commands more wage than the club captain, Hugo Lloris, and fellow midfielder Dell Alli.

    Creative midfielder Heung-Min Son, who has been impressive this season for Spurs, pockets £140,000-per-week. The South Korean has been used as a false nine by Mourinho following the injury to Kane.
