Daniel Levy has shared a soothing revelation to Tottenham Hotspur supporters, revealing that there is a clause embedded in the deal of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.
Kane left Tottenham Hotspur on August 12, 2023, to join German giants Bayern Munich for a fee of €100 million.
Following years of achieving excellent individual feats, Harry Kane opted for a fresh challenge in Bavaria.
The 30-year-old has his sights on a trophy with Bayern Munich, and he is contributing his quota to ensure they achieve success in the 2023/24 season.
Since he arrived at the club, Kane has scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in 5 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking to Fans Forum, Daniel Levy revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have a “buyback” clause inserted in Harry Kane’s deal with Bayern Munich.
He didn’t expositorily share details to the public, concerning the buyback clause, but it is understandable to note that Kane’s focus is firmly on Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Is there a buyback clause in Harry Kane’s deal with Bayern Munich?
Via a post shared on Fabrizio Romano’s social media platforms, Levy was quoted as saying: “Yes, we’ve a buy back clause for Harry Kane”.
The Englishman further shared his appreciation for Kane, and he expressed that the door is always open for the England captain to make a comeback to the club.
He said: “I’d like to say thanks to Harry for everything he’s done for us — he’s always welcome back, Harry’s a much loved and valued member of the Spurs family and forever in our history as Tottenham player.”
Harry Kane spent 19 years at Tottenham Hotspur, and he became the club’s top-scorer and the second top-scorer in Premier League history.
He scored 278 goals and provided 64 assists in 430 appearances for Spurs, with 213 of those goals coming in the Premier League.
Kane was 47 league goals away from equaling the record of Alan Shearer, 460, another legendary English forward.
Individual records or career trophies?
Some of his supporters keen on him breaking that record wished that he didn’t leave England, but to others, the addition of at least one major career trophy was paramount.
Harry Kane chose the latter and he is in Germany, striving and hoping that he gets his hand on a major silverware with Bayern Munich.
It is sacrosanct to note that in truth, Kane has a better chance of lifting a major trophy with the Bavarians, than with Spurs.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur haven’t fared badly since the Englishman’s exit, as Ange Postecoglou is engineering the club towards a potential success.
Spurs remain unbeaten in the Premier League after 5 matches, with 4 victories and 1 draw.
Spurs are enjoying a renaissance of some sought, away from their horrible form in the 2022/23 season.
However, it is still not a given if the club’s remarkable start to the season will result in any silverware.
