Tottenham beat Bournemouth 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium thanks to goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
Ange Postecoglou’s impressive start as Tottenham manager continued with a comfortable win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Spurs also completed about 534 passes with 88% accuracy while Bournemouth managed 383 passes with 79% accuracy.
James Maddison, who Tottenham signed for £40m from Leicester in the summer scored his first goal for the club to give the visitors the lead.
Maddison scored his first goal for Tottenham to ensure Ange Postecoglou’s side moved top of the Premier League table ahead of the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.
The £40m summer signing, who appeared to be a doubt for this encounter after leaving the stadium on crutches as a precaution following the 2-0 triumph over Manchester United last weekend, shrugged that off as he scored in the 17th minute.
Spurs started off a beautiful move with Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr and it was capped by a smart run and scuffed finish by Maddison.
Not long after, the former Leicester City man created a chance for Richarlison, who skipped past Neto but saw his close-range effort blocked on the line.
Bournemouth, however, improved in the second half of the match with Antoine Semenyo going close to scoring.
However, Tottenham caught the home side off guard again in the 63rd minute when Dejan Kulusevski finished off Destiny Udogie’s fine run and cross.
This practically meant that Spurs are on the top of the table – at least for now – with two wins from three matches.
The hosts, Bournemouth, on the other hand, are 15th on one point but could drop lower if the remaining results for the weekend go against them.
Tottenham will visit Fulham in an all-Premier League EFL Cup clash on Tuesday night while Bournemouth travel to Swansea City.
