    A top Turkish football star Ahmet Turkaslan has been confirmed missing, including players of Turkish Super Lig side Marasspor in Turkish Earthquake

    The Southeastern part of Turkey, including some parts of Syria were struck with a massive earthquake measuring up to 7.7 in magnitude.

    Citizens of Turkey and Syria, including well wishers across the globe were greeted with incredible scenes of mass wreckage and debri cutting across major infrastructures.

    Towering skyscrappers, information and communication gadgets, private buildings, cars, and other facilities and amenities have been leveled by the earthquake.

    Viral social media footage showed Turkish citizens in the affected areas scampering for safety as giants buildings and structures cracked and fell under the quake.

    The death toll is increasing and the number of those trapped in the rubble are yet to be ascertained. Currently about 2000 people have reportedly died in the incident, with about 6,000 confirmed injured.

    Casualty figures are expected to rise as the search and rescue operations continue with Turkey emergency response swinging into action.

    A number of players and staff of some top clubs in Turkish Super Lig, whose base were situated in the heart of the affected areas, have been confirmed missing following the earthquake.

    Ghana international and former Chelsea star Christian Atsu was among the victims trapped in the rubble, but has been reportedly found, rescued and hospitalized.

    Christian Atsu and 9 other players including 3 staff of Hatayspor were reportedly buried in the rubble in one of the buildings that collapsed under the earthquake.

    A list of other top football stars and club officials playing the Turkish Super Lig have been reportedly affected, with many still confirmed missing at the time of filing this report.

    Top football star, Ahmet Turkaslan is among the players that has been confirmed missing in the rubble.

    Turkaslan plays for Yeni Malatyaspor as a goalkeeper and was reportedly lost to the rubble with rescue operations ongoing.

    Turkaslan is said to have died in the rubble, according to early reports. Yeni Malatyaspor President Haci Ahmet Yaman has refuted the report, saying the club hopes to locate and rescue the shot-stopper as the rescue operation continues.

    The clubs assistant coach İlhan Var confirmed Ahmet Turkaslan is yet to be found and his wife have come out to describe where he could be to aid the rescue operations.

    According to Haber Global, also affected by the earthquake are players of Super Lig club Marasspor. Marasspor players reportedly stayed in an hotel which was brought down by the earthquake.

    Rescue operations on the site of the hotel debri is underway, but it cannot be determined now whether they are alive or dead in the rubble.

    Top football stars and clubs have expressed their solidarity with all victims of the disaster, including some of their former players affected who have been trapped, as the world rallies around Turkey and Syria.
