Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are topping the lists of clubs that have won the Champions League and Domestic League titles in the same season since 1992.
FC Barcelona ( won Champions League and Domestic League titles in 1992, 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2015)
FC Barcelona tops the list having achieved this record on five different occasions. The Spanish club have won important titles in the past, although there seems to be a decline in recent years.
Being one of the most successful clubs in the history of Laliga, Barcelona has been a top-flight team over the years. Their recent 2015 Champions League and domestic title win were due to the formidable performances put in by their trio; Lionel Messi, Neymar JR, and Luis Suarez.
Despite being Luis Enrique’s first season, Barcelona reminded everyone in the world that they are still a world-class team. The trio scored a combined 122 goals as they became the first trio to achieve that in the history of Spanish football.
Barcelona also won the final match of their La Liga campaign where Lionel Messi scored a goal that was later nominated for the Puskas award. Barcelona won their 27th league title in the 2014/2015 season and also the Copa del Rey.
Bayern Munich (2001, 2013, and 2020)
The current German champions have always shown their class in Europe despite playing in a league where there is less competition. Their 2019/2020 double was a joyous one for their fans in Germany as they won the Champions League final courtesy of a Kingsley Coman’s winner.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, most of the matches had to be played behind closed doors. The Champions League final was scheduled to be played in Istanbul but it was later changed to the Estadio da Luz stadium in Portugal. That winner in Portugal saw them clinch their sixth European trophy and became the first team to win the European trophy with a 100% winning record all through the competition.
The 2019/2020 Bundesliga title was their 30th league title overall and their 8th consecutive title win. Their Polish striker, Robert Lewandoski won the Golden Boot as well as Bundesliga Player of the Season.
Real Madrid (won the Champions League and domestic title in 2017 and 2022)
The current holder of the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid had an excellent season in the 2021/2022 season. Benzema and Vinicius Junior produced brilliant displays, with the latter scoring the goal that sealed the Champions League in the final.
Under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid produced comebacks against Chelsea and Manchester City in the cup competition.
Carlo Ancelotti became the manager with the highest number of Champions League trophies a record of four times. Real Madrid also extends the number of Champions League trophies that they have won to 14.
A total point of 86 ensured that Real Madrid secured their 35th league title.
Other clubs on the list include Manchester United in 1999 and 2008, Ajax in 1995, Porto FC in 2004, Inter Milan in 2010, AC Milan in 1994, and Olympique Lyon in 1993.
