The Top Scorers so far in the 2023-24 season in Europe did not feature either Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi for the first time in more than a decade.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have always appeared in the Top Scorers list for over 12 years but this time, they didn’t make it as they are currently playing outside Europe.
However, we now have a new era with younger players who are setting the pace especially in the start of the 2023-24 campaign.
Futballnews have taken out time to look at the top 10 goalscorers across Europe’s big five leagues – Ligue 1, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and the Premier League.
Top Scorers In Europe’s Top 5 League
Serhou Guirassy might not be a household name yet, but he has shown his attacking prowess as the new season is underway.
Lets go over the list of the top 5 goal scorers in all of Europe so far in the 23/24 season:
Serhou Guirassy – Stuttgart – 13 Goals
Serhou Guirassy is a relatively lesser-known name but has been in an impressive form since he signed for Stuttgart from Rennes last season.
The striker has taken the Bundesliga by storm and has helped Stuttgart punched well above their weight to sit second in the Bundesliga table, one point ahead of Bayern Munich.
Guirassy, 27, has averaged a goal every other game in the German top flight last term and he’s bettering that ratio in 2023-24 so far with 13 goals in just 7 games.
Lautaro Martinez – Inter Milan – 10 Goals
World Cup winning player Martinez began the 2023-24 campaign by scoring both of Inter’s goals in a routine 2-0 win over Monza.
The attacker also added a third as Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri went to Cagliari and won by the same scoreline, and he is second on our top scorers list.
He has been in scintillating form this season and doing well in replacing Romelu Lukaku whose deal didn’t go through for Inter Milan.
Harry Kane – Bayern Munich – 8 Goals
England captain Harry Kane has enjoyed a beautiful start to the season since his switch from Tottenham to Bayern Munich.
The striker, who is third on our list of top goal scorers and two goals behind Martinez, even scored a hat-trick just few games into the season.
Recall we reported that Robert Lewandowski broke Gerd Muller’s long-held record of 40 league goals in a Bundesliga season, well, Kane might be unto the same.
Erling Haaland – Man City – 8 Goals
Well, we all know that if Haaland doesn’t make the list of top scorers in Europe’s top five league, the list will be incomplete.
The Norwegian has not looked his best since the season started but has managed to make it to the list will just few games played.
Last season, he won the Premier League golden boot after a record-breaking debut season and will surely claim the Golden Boot again.
Jude Bellingham – Madrid – 8 Goals
Another new name we have on our top scorer list is Real Madrid’s summer signing Jude Bellingham, who has been in massive form since moving to Spain.
The England international scored in his first four matches for Los Blancos which saw him reach a milestone for the Spanish giants.
His massive contributions has seen him become a vital addition to an already star-stacked Carlo Ancelotti’s side sitting at the top of the table.
Kylian Mbappe – PSG – 7 Goals
The Frenchman has an average of 24 league goals a season for PSG since arriving from Monaco back in 2017.
Mbappe has gone on to become PSG’s all-time goalscorer and also broke the 30-goal mark once (33 back in 2018-19) and is yet to claim a European Golden Shoe.
The Frenchman also made it to our top scorers list even though he has had a serious competition since Erling Haaland moved to Man City.
