The 31-year-old former Germany international is well renowned for his pretty daring viewpoints on his podcast, Einfach mal Luppen.

Karim Benzema and his brother Felix referred to the FIFA Best awards ceremony earlier this week as a “joke” after the 33-year-old was edged out by Lionel Messi.

“There was no doubt about the winner,” Felix stated. “It was clear that Benzema would win it after everything he had done.”

Toni Kroos attested to this, saying: “That’s why you couldn’t see Real Madrid anywhere at the gala. I also boycotted it. I didn’t get any awards.”

Toni Kroos also expressed his emotions in the most recent episode of the well-liked podcast when the delicate issue of Los Blancos’ jersey came up in conversation.

“We have a collar [on the shirt] again this season,” the former Germany midfielder said. “A polo is not a football shirt. To all the designers: this is really s**t. Kits with a collar are not good, they are uncomfortable and ugly.”

The 120th anniversary Real Madrid home jersey for 2022–23 has a traditional style with a buttoned collar that was favorably received upon debut.

He transferred to Real Madrid for €25 million in 2014.

At Madrid, Kroos won sixteen trophies, including four UEFA Champions League and three consecutive La Liga championships between 2016 and 2018. He was also named to each of those championships’ teams of the season.

Carlo Ancelotti called him around the time of the 2014 World Cup.

Real Madrid, a Spanish La Liga team, revealed on July 17, 2014, that they had reached a transfer agreement for Kroos, who signed a six-year contract for an undisclosed sum.

According to the press, Kroos cost between €24 and €30 million.

His second youth team, Greifswalder SV 04, received €60,000 from the transfer.

After Günter Netzer, Paul Breitner, Uli Stielike, Bernd Schuster, Bodo Illgner, Christoph Metzelder, Mesut Ozil, and Sami Khedira, Kroos joined Real Madrid as the club’s ninth German player.
