Former England U-21 midfielder Tom Davies has chosen to leave Everton after 13 years at the club due to lack of enough game time

The 24-year-old, who has spent his entire club football career with the Foxes in English topflight, is now set to leave the club.

Tom Davies’ Everton contract expires this summer. He has been offered an opportunity to extend his contract but has reportedly turned it down due to lack of enough game time.

In 2022/23 season, Davies started only four matches for Everton, playing a peripheral role as the team narrowly survived relegation.

Confirming the decision of Tom to leave the club this summer, Everton football director, Kevin Thelwell said Davies has been offered a new contract but he has chosen to leave the club because of lack of regular playing time.

“We offered Tom a new contract, but he feels he has reached the stage in his career where he needs regular first-team football,” Thelwell said.

Davies is one of the longest serving Everton player. He made his debut for the club at the age of 17.

Davies started his football career at Everton academy in 2009 at the age of 11. After six years at Everton youth, he transitioned to Everton first team in 2015 at the age of 17.

Davies has played for Everton throughout his career and is one of the longest serving players at Goodison Park. Playing as a midfielder, Davies has made 155 appearances for Everton, scoring 6 goals.
