Edgar Paez, the president of Tigres FC, a football club that currently plays in the Colombian second division has been shot dead.
The motive for murdering Edgar Paez has not been revealed yet but some details of the unfortunate incident have already been revealed.
Paez has been the director of Independiente Santa Fe and the said team lost 3-2 to Atletico de Cali before the news of his murder went viral.

Edgar Paez, 60, as we know was the president of Tigres since he assumed that post ahead of Expreso Rojo, in 2016.
He oversaw the activities of the club that has been very close to Independiente Santa Fe, which had its only promotion in 2017.
The club enjoyed the top flight only one year before they were relegated almost immediately after finishing second to last in the table.
Why Was Paez Murdered?
The rumor of the death of the president of a Colombian football club circulated in the media on the Saturday night, 23rd September.
This was coming hours after the aforementioned match took place at the Techo Stadium in Bogota.
However, no one gave full details of the death of Edgar Paez or confirmed what had happened in this latest incident of violence around Colombian football.
Oscar Ostos, director of ‘Gol Caracol’, released the unfortunate news and was the one who gave the first details of the crime.
Oscar Ostos stated: “Two players of Tigres of the second division tell me that Edgar Paez, president and owner of the team from Bogota, died this Saturday. This happened after the match…”
“Edgar was with one of his daughters at the time of the attack, they took him to the Mederi Clinic and there they could not do anything.”
The report stated that the President of the Columbian club was with his daughter, driving a Mazda 2 car, and was intercepted by a motorcycle carrying two people.
The National Police also detailed how Edgar Paez was murdered of which they highlighted three fatal shots that ended the life of this man.
The Police confirmed that Edgar Paez was shot in the thorax, the neck, and skull, and the bullets caused his death.
The President was immediately transported to the Mederi Clinic, where he was confirmed dead.
Since his death was announced, several messages of condolences from across Colombian football have pouring out in honour of the deceased football administrator.
