Major exclusions from Argentina’s 2024 Copa America squad
Leading the list of big-name internationals omitted from the squad is Paulo Dybala. Dybala has had a good season with Roma but apparently not enough to win the heart of Scaloni.
Monza midfielder Papu Gomez, 36, who won the 2022 World Cup with the team has been left out of the squad.
MLS star and Atlanta attacking midfielder Thiago Almada, 23, who also made the 2022 World Cup-winning squad, is also out of the squad.
The defending champions will kick off their 2024 Copa America campaigne on June 21, 2024, against Canada before taking on Chile and Peru in Group A.
