Former Blues manager Thomas Tuchel was reportedly sacked by Chelsea for off-field reasons and because the players lost respect for him according to a new revelation from his ex-wife, Sissi.
Tuchel’s ex-wife Sissi is alleged to have stated that “ Chelsea players lost respect” for Tuchel amid a poor run of results, and that several other mysterious “off-field reasons” were cited as ulterior for his sack at the London club.
The revelation came in a hearing at Munich’s district court following the breakup between the 49-year-old German coach Tuchel, and his 51-year-old ex-wife Sissi, last year after 13 years of marriage.
Tuchel married his ex wife Sissi in 2009 and had two daughters together.
Tuchel was relieved of his managerial duties at Stamford Bridge in September 2022 despite his great achievements, having won Champions League, UEFA Super Club, and FIFA Club World Cup, while also guiding the Blues to two FA Cup finals.
Report of his exit came as a shock to all and sundry at the time, with Chelsea’s new ownership group led by American tycoon Todd Boehly – said to have engaged in the dismissal following a breakdown in professional working relationships.
However, the German newspaper Bild reported that Tuchel’s ex-wife Sissi, who is a former journalist for Suddeutsche Zeitung, received an email that contains the alleged reasons for Tuchel’s sacking in September last year.
Sissi was apparently informed that the Chelsea players had lost respect for their manager, Tuchel who won the Champions League with them in 2021.
The 49-year-old German coach is said to have lost confidence in his Chelsea players due to his difficult character and volatile behavior.
According to The Independent report, his private life was also a topic of dressing-room gossip.
This, with other mysterious ‘off-field reasons’ transformed the squad’s perception of their manager and eventually led to his contract in west London being terminated according to Sissi’s revelation following the collapse of their marriage.
The reasons were depicted in an email and Thomas Tuchel wanted to use a temporary injunction to prevent his divorced wife Sissi from disclosing the content of the message, according to Bild report.
The German manager, Thomas Tuchel is now said to be in an amorous relationship with a 35-year-old Brazilian Natalie Max, who he began dating after his divorce with Sissi was finalized.
The former Blues manager won 60 of his 100 games in charge of Chelsea including the 2021 Champions League final against tough rival Manchester City.
Since he was axed out of Stamford Bridge last year September, Tuchel has remained out of work.
However, there have been reports of him being lined up for a return to Paris Saint-Germain, while the German has also been linked with a job in England at Tottenham as Antonio Conte’s contract in north London hangs on the fence.
