Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has come to the defense of Brazilian star Neymar after he was sent-off in their 4-3 win against Bordeaux on Sunday. Tuchel believes the forward’s reaction was simply ”human.” After a reckless tackle on Yacine Adli, the 28-year-old was booked with a second yellow card in the second-half stoppage time.

Neymar will miss their next Ligue 1 clash against Dijon which will take place on Saturday. Tuchel took the judgment with a good heart and did not overreact to the dismissal of his key man.

”We have to talk about the whole situation,” Tuchel told reporters at his post-match press conference.

”He is nervous and he reacts. It is human. He must not, but it is human. And the Bordeaux player does not even get a yellow card” Tuchel added.

Tuchel seemed to suggest that Neymar was most likely fouled in the build-up, which resulted in a reaction from the Brazilian international. Nevertheless, the Ligue 1 giants were able to secure the three points which has seen them stretch their lead on top of the table by 13 points over second-placed Marseille.

Two goals from Marquinhos, one just before half time and the other came in the second half in the 63rd minute. While Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe also found the back of the net, helping PSG to win the game in an intense fixture at the Parc des Princes stadium. Speaking on his side’s performance after the match, Paris Saint-Germain boss Tuchel said:

”On the one hand we are really very strong offensively, but on the other, we concede a lot of goals. As defenders, we really have to think about what we can do best. In this match, it was mainly on set-pieces. We really have to work better collectively.”

Meanwhile, Neymar escaped a similar offense last week during PSG clash with Borussia Dortmund. The Paris Saint-Germain forward was fortunate not to have been sent off after what seems to be an intentional elbow to Dortmund midfielder Axel Witsel. The Brazilian international appeared frustrated as he was tailed for the most part of the game during their Champions League opening leg of their last-16 tie.
