It is the expectation of players who put up amazing performances to be rewarded optimally and Thiago Silva is a man who has earned such bragging rights.
The experienced 38-year-old Brazilian center back, Thiago Silva has put pen to paper furthering his contract with Chelsea for one more season.
His current contractual agreement will see him stay on with the Blues till the end of the 2023/2024 league season.
In spite of splashing an outrageous amount of over £500 million on players this season, the ever-inspiring and ever-present Brazilian is a mainstay in the heart of Chelsea’s defense.
Chelsea signed Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer transfer window, in addition to Wesley Fofana who came in from Leicester City before bringing on board, Benoit Badiashile from A.S Monaco in the winter transfer window.
But Thiago Silva has cemented his place in the starting XI with his name amongst the first names on Graham Potter’s mind when selecting his starting eleven.
Thiago Silva joined Chelsea in 2020 from Paris Saint Germain after having a successful time in the French Capital, he desired for a new challenge and Chelsea offered him that.

He spent eight (8) years with Les Parisians before moving over to the West London side, Chelsea and since then he has played with passion, courage and being a good representative of the badge.
He has made seventy-four (74) appearances for Chelsea so far, scoring five (5) goals and has eclipsed the same feat with goals like his time in Italy with AC Milan where he made ninety-three (93) appearances for the rossoneri’s between the year 2009-2012.
Chelsea announced Silva’s contract extension with the following caption “Thiago Silva has signed a new contract to continue at Chelsea for a further year!”
The Brazilian national team captain confirmed the extension of his stay with the Blues via his official Twitter account as he posted a picture of himself wearing the colours of Chelsea with the caption “Forever Blue @ChelseaFC #2024”

While speaking after extending his stay with the Blues, Thiago Silva said: “I am honestly so happy to continue my career with the Blues.
“When I signed my first contract here, it was to just do one year. Now it is already the fourth. I could not have imagined that, but really it is a very special moment for me to sign and stay at Chelsea.”
His current manager, Graham Potter also had great words to say about the Brazilian as he showed his delight with the news.

However, in a joint statement, the two owners of the club had excellent remarks for the Brazilian as they praised his experience and gave plaudits of his wondrous works with the Blues.

“We’re thrilled he has extended his contract with us and we look forward to more success with him ahead.”
