Former Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has decided to retire from professional football because of his consistent injuries over the years.
The 33-year-old midfielder left Liverpool after his four-year contract end on June 30, 2024.
Liverpool failed to renew his contract after the Spanish midfielder made just an appearance for the club last season.
Alcantara has a career to remember after playing for European giants like Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool.
He started his career with the Barcelona side, where he won four La Liga titles, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey.
After a successful tenure at Barcelona, he proceeded to join Bayern Munich in 2013. He won seven Bundesliga titles with the German giant.
In 2020, he won the Champions League with the Bayern Munich team that defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
In 2020, he completed a move to Liverpool, even though Manchester United were heavily in the race to sign the midfielder. He won the FA Cup with Liverpool in the 2021–22 season.
