    The Premier League mourned the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II after her death was confirmed on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Earlier on Thursday, concerns about her majesty’s health grew, prompting the family to gather; a few hours later, her demise was confirmed.

    The Premier League and the entire world were shocked after the sudden announcement of the death of the world’s most iconic and influential monarch. Confirming the incident, a statement from Buckingham Palace at exactly 6:30 pm reads; “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

    Immediately after the news, the Premier League and all the 20 clubs in England’s elite football league tendered their condolence message to the Royal Family and England for the sad news.

    “The Premier League is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with The Royal Family and everyone around the world mourning the loss of Her Majesty”, a statement from the Premier League read.

    Chelsea wrote;

    “Chelsea Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We join those mourning in the UK and across the world. We would like to send our condolences to the Royal Family and everyone affected by this unfortunate news.”

    Liverpool wrote;

    “Liverpool Football Club is saddened by the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. We extend our sincere condolences to The Royal Family.”

    Manchester City tweeted;

    “Manchester City wishes to express its sincere condolences to The Royal Family following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty’s dedication and service have been exemplary, and we join our country and the Commonwealth in mourning her loss.”

    Manchester United also tweeted;

    “Manchester United shares the sorrow of the entire nation following the announcement from Buckingham Palace on the passing of Her Royal Highness The Queen Elizabeth II.”

    Tottenham wrote;

    “Tottenham Hotspur joins the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Club should like to extend its condolences to all members of the Royal Family at this sad time.”

    Arsenal tweeted;

    “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. Along with many of our supporters today, we will be taking time to mourn and reflect on Her Majesty’s incredible life and devoted service.”

    Immediately after the demise of Queen Elizabeth was confirmed, the Royal family proceeded head-on with a burial arrangement for the 96-year-old Monarch while Prince Charles III is set to succeed her as the King of England.

    Charles Philip Arthur George, Born 14 November 1948, is the King of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms. Charles III was pronounced King of England on 8 September 2022, succeeding her mother, Queen Elizabeth, who died the same day at Balmoral after a brief illness.

    Charles served in the British Royal Airforce from 1971-1977. He married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981 and divorced her in 1996. His new Spouse is Camilla Parker Bowles. He has two children, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.
