Recently sacked Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has made an awful prediction of what will befall the club’s new manager.
In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Xavi Hernandez said Barcelona’s new manager will suffer.
“I would like to tell the new coach that he will suffer and that he should be patient, it’s a very complicated position.”
He however added the only thing that will save him is perfectly winning all his games.
“The only thing that will save the new coach is winning.”
Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona plight has been the most dramatic between a club and a manager. Midway through the just-concluded 2023-24 campaign, the former Barcelona player-turned-manager announced his decision to leave at the end of the campaign.
Towards the end of the campaign, he was talked back by the club’s president Joan Laporta to rescind his decision and continue the next season.
However, in a sharp turn of events, the pair fell out again and the club made a drastic U-turn, sacking him to bring in Hansi Flick as new manager.
According to reports, Xavi is linked to a move to the Premier League with an unidentified big club vying for his services.
However, it is obvious the legendary culer is leaving Barcelona as an unhappy man due to perceived ill-treatment by the club.
Recall after he announced his decision to leave, the 46-year-old had a downbeat review of the club, insisting they will not have a manager in the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson.
He has maintained a similar caustic tone over the prospect of his successor Hansi Flick acing it at the dugout and getting on with the club’s hierarchy.
Meanwhile, Futballnews understands Barcelona have moved on from the disgruntled former boss, having reached an agreement with Hansi Flick to take over as the new manager.
