Tammy Abraham ‘s penalty more than nine minutes into stoppage time ended Roma’s winless run in Serie A, as Jose Mourinho’s side edged 10-man Spezia 1-0.
Abraham’s penalty came after Roma struck the woodwork four times and squandered numerous chances against Spezia, who played the majority of the match with ten men following the dismissal of defender Kelvin Amian at the end of the first half.

Roma earned their first victory in five matches, moving them up to sixth place, six points behind fourth-place Juventus. Spezia remain four points clear of the drop zone. This weekend, all Serie A matches began five minutes late, accompanied by a peace message in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Jose Mourinho was serving the first of a two-match ban for his actions toward the referee during and after Roma’s 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona last week.
Giovanni Simeone ended his goal drought in spectacular fashion, scoring a hat-trick in the second half to help Hellas Verona defeat relegation-threatened Venezia 3-1.
Simeone had not scored a goal since mid-December.
Nine minutes from time, David Okereke headed Venezia back into the match, but Simeone completed his hat-trick and sealed the result seven minutes later.
Venezia fell into the relegation zone, three points behind Cagliari, following Cagliari’s 2-1 victory at Torino.
