Tammy Abraham thanked Roma fans for their goodwill messages and told them that he will ‘be okay’ after suffering a horrific hit to the left eye that required stitches.
The striker’s participation in Serie A game against Hellas Verona had previously been questioned because he suffered flu-like symptoms the previous night and on Sunday 19th.
He started the game, but only managed to play for 15 minutes before teammate Gianluca Mancini unintentionally booted him in the eye.
Abraham shook his head in annoyance after several minutes of treatment and left the field holding a cloth to his left eye.
Abraham posted an Instagram Story photo of himself wearing a hospital robe and still holding some padding to his eye after the 1-0 victory earned by an Ola Solbakken’s goal.
“Thank you for the messages. I’ll be okay,” the Roma striker wrote.
Abraham required sutures after sustaining a gash on his eyebrow, according to a statement from Roma.

Tammy Abraham departed in the first 20 minutes after taking a serious knock to the left eye in Roma’s victory against Verona.
The club’s medical team attended to the Englishman in the dressing room after being immediately replaced by Andrea Belotti.
Abraham required sutures after suffering an injury to his lower eyelid, according to Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo.

He scored his first goal for Roma in a 4-0 victory over Salernitana on August 29.
He scored his first goal in the Conference League on September 16 to seal the Giallorossi’s 5-1 win over CSKA Sofia.
He made his Coppa Italia debut on January 20, 2022, and helped his team defeat Lecce 3-1 at home by scoring a goal and providing an assist.
