Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has arrived in Italy to complete his transfer deal with coach Jose Mourinho’s Roma after failing to impress Thomas Tuchel.

Recent Photos from Italy showed that the 23-year-old English striker arrived in Rome less than an hour before publishing this report.

On Saturday, August 14, reports in England confirmed that Tammy Abraham agreed to join Roma, an Italian club that is being coached by legendary Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho.

Recall that Mourinho had coached Chelsea on two different occasions. During his second time at Chelsea, Tammy Abraham was in Chelsea’s football academy.

The England international gained promotion to the senior team of the London-based club on July 1, 2017. From there, he went on loan to Swansea and Aston Villa before he finally settled at the club in May 2019.

Under coach Frank Lampard, Tammy Abraham enjoyed regular playing time, especially in the 2019-2020 season. However, in the 2020-2021 season, he started enjoying lesser games especially after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

On how Tammy Abraham felt about his inability to play regularly under Tuchel, the German coach said; “Tammy is right now in the squad. He did some good preparation matches.

“He was clearly not happy with the last half a year and maybe he has reason also not to be happy and maybe it was also my fault not to push him, not to trust him on the same level I maybe trusted other players.

“I can understand that he wants more minutes. So the decision will be ‘how do we plan, what are Tammy’s plans, does he fight his way back into the team from the position where he ended last season, or does he want to change the club to have the chance of being a regular starter?'”

Due to how unhappy Tammy Abraham has been under Tuchel, he had to agree to join Roma for £34 million this summer. He is expected to complete his medical later today.

It became eminent that Abraham does no longer have a future at Chelsea after the London club paid over £95.7 million to bring former Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea.

Like Tammy Abraham, Lukaku was frustrated out of Chelsea between 2011 and 2014 because the then coach of the club, Jose Mourinho did not believe in him. The Belgian did not allow that to discourage him as he went on to develop himself to the extent he became Chelsea’s record signing this summer.

Hence, Abraham who could not represent England in Euro 2020 due to his lack of regular game time at Chelsea, would be inspired by the story of Lukaku as he ventures to continue his development in Italian Serie A.
