Super Eagles of Nigeria have reportedly been named the most valuable national team in Africa and also, 10th in the world.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria is currently valued at €451.60 million and ranked the first in Africa while ranking 10th globally.

The AFCON 2013 Champions reacted to this ranking on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, 21st October.

The Nigeria senior national men’s team are the only African side that made the top ten list of Most Valuable National Teams in the world.

The statement shared on X read: “We are now ranked as the 10th most valuable squad in the world and the most valuable squad in Africa.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are just €68 million behind Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands and €184.90 million behind Italy’s national team.

While the Super Eagles of Nigeria are seated 10th in the ranking, England’s national team are top of the list with a squad worth €1.37 billion.

2018 World Cup winner and 2022 finalist France are second on the list with a squad that has €1.05 billion net worth.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal are also on the ranking list with a net worth of €990.00 million, while Brazil occupied the Fourth position with €969.00 million.

Spain claims the fifth position with a worth of €811.00m, while 2022 World Cup winners Argentina are 6th with a squad worth €797.50m.

Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to face Lesotho and Zimbabwe in the qualification match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Also, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
