The owner of Arsenal football club, Stan Kroenke has insisted that Arsenal football club is not for sale amid interest from Swedish billionaire Daniel Ek.

Daniel EK who is the co-founder and chief executive of music streaming service Spotify has expressed his willingness to buy the club amidst protest against Stan Kroenke’s reign at the club.

During the weekend, a report surfaced speculating that Daniel EK is planning to bid for Arsenal and he has brought in former players of the club to assist him in doing so. The three former players of the club that have been mentioned in EK’s team are Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, and Dennis Bergkamp.

However, since the report emerged, EK is yet to issue a press release except his initial tweet expressing his interest to buy the club from Stan Kroenke.

Among the three Arsenal legends that have been named as part of the team that would assist EK to bid for Arsenal, only Thierry Henry has openly criticized the reign of Stan Kroenke. He slammed the American businessman for signing up Arsenal for the failed European Super League.

Despite the push to get rid of Stan Kroenke, the 73-year-old American billionaire has insisted that he and his family are not planning to sell any stake in the Premier League club which means that Daniel Ek’s dream of owning the club might not come to pass anytime soon.

However, Arsenal fans have not given up on their call for the American businessman and his family to leave the club. Recently, Josh Kroenke, the son of Stan who doubled as the director of Arsenal also stressed that the club is not for sale.

In a statement the family released on Tuesday, April 27, Stan and Josh insisted that the family remains “100 percent committed” to Arsenal.

“In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club,” the statement read.

“We remain 100 percent committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the club. We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.
