16-year-old Lamine Yamal led Spain to fight back against star-studded France in the ongoing Euro 2024 semi-final clash at the Allianz Arena.
France who have always struggled to score goals since the 2024 European Championship started, took the initiative against Spain as Randal Kolo Muani gave them the match opener in the 9th minute.
The setback sparked a reaction from the losing side, Spain, with Lamine Yamal confirming that the noise about him is not just hype. The FC Barcelona youngster grabbed the equaliser outside the eighteen-yard box.
Yamal’s thunderbolt strike in the 21st minute of the encounter left gigantic goalkeeper Mike Maignan jumping to the far corner for no tangible reason.
The stunning goal makes Lamine Yamal the youngest player to score in the UEFA European Championship at 16 years and 362 days old. He scored the goal four days before his 17th birthday.
Adrien Rabiot yesterday: “If Lamine wants to play in the final he will have to do more things than he has done so far.”
