Soccer Aid has revealed the England squad for the charity match to be held in London on Sunday, June 9, 2023, as Mauricio Pochettino returns to Stamford Bridge.

A team of three Lions will clash against a World XI in a televised money-raising event for UNICEF.

The encounter will feature the regular potpourri of celebrities and former professional footballers.

The encounter will be held at Stamford Bridge – the home ground of English side Chelsea.

There will be several blue stars on parade for either team, as well as Mauricio Pochettino returning to the technical area.

Pochettino will take charge of the Rest of the World team, a few weeks after he left Chelsea following a mutual agreement.

Provisional England Squad Revealed By Soccer Aid For The Incoming Charity Match

The provisional England squad, as shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), will be tutored by ex-Chelsea icon and manager Frank Lampard.

Arsenal great David Seaman, and managerial legend Harry Redknapp will also tutor the England squad.

The aforementioned trident will be assisted by singer Robbie Williams and actor Vicky McClure.

Joe Cole, Gary Cahill, Ellen White and Karen Carney are among the England legends who will display their artistry at Stamford Bridge.

Goalkeeper David James, Jermain Defoe, Jill Scott, Theo Walcott, and Jack Wilshere will also be amongst the English group that will feature in the novelty affair.

Additionally, thirteen celebrities are named on the initial team sheet, including actors Bobby Brazier, Erin Doherty, Danny Dyer, and comedian Paddy McGuinness.

Stuart Broad, Sam Quek, and Mo Farah will be seen in a new field, having in the past accentuated their brilliance in cricket, hockey, and long-distance running respectively.

Moreover, Simon Minter from the Sidemen, entrepreneur Steven Bartlett, TV personality Sam Thompson, “The Last Leg” presenter Alex Brooker, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, and singer Tom Grennan will also feature in the game.

    World XI Team

Soccer Aid also confirmed the individuals that will be involved with the action for World XI on their X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

Pochettino will be hoping to be on the winning side once again, having helped his side win last year’s event at Manchester United’s Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Blues greats Petr Cech, Eden Hazard, John Obi Mikel, and Michael Essien are among the former Chelsea stars who are set to grace the Stamford Bridge turf.

The encounter is expected to be followed widely across the globe as fans look to see their revered stars delineate their brilliance.

Some Chelsea supporters might also be looking forward to seeing Mauricio Pochettino in the technical area at Stamford Bridge, as they appear divided over his departure from the club.

Pochettino has been linked with the managerial position at Manchester United, with the Red Devils said to be eyeing him as a likely replacement for Erik Ten Hag, if the Dutchman is dismissed by the club.
