Sir Alex Ferguson defended the former Manchester United captain, Ryan Giggs, in the ongoing assault case when he was called as a character witness. Ryan is involved in an assault case with his ex-girlfriend, Kate Greville.
He was also charged with using controlling behavior against his ex-girlfriend. Sir Alex Ferguson told the court he had never seen Ryan Giggs lose his temper as he gave evidence to defend him.
In addition, Sir Alex told the court that Ryan has achieved what he wanted and everyone looks up to him as one of the biggest British footballers in the history of the game.
When Ryan Giggs made his debut for Manchester United at the age of 17, he was targeted by the media, who compared him to George Best.
Sir Alex Ferguson knew Ryan Giggs as a quiet man since they met when he was 13 years old.
Aside from Sir Alex Ferguson defending him, former Manchester United CEO David Gill tells the court to believe whatever Ryan Giggs says.
He described Ryan Giggs as courteous and professional. He is also competitive and has a good sense of humour.
The Salford City chairman also gave evidence in court. She described Ryan Giggs as a gentleman and polite and said she had not seen the player raise his voice before.
Giggs has denied every assault allegation leveled against him between August 2017 and November 2020. He also denied trying to make his ex-girlfriend look like a slave
Giggs told the jury he had been unfaithful in all his previous relationships but had never assaulted a woman.
Ryan Giggs was also charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend’s younger sister in the process of fighting with his Ex. Ms. Greville told the court that Giggs is a complete liar and cheat, and her guts always tell her not to trust him.
In addition, Kate told the court that Ryan cheated on her with 12 different women. Kate wept as she described living with Ryan Giggs as hell, describing him as an aggressive person
Giggs stood down as manager of the Wales national team in June, saying he didn’t want to jeopardize preparations for the World Cup later this year in Qatar.
The case has been adjourned by the lawyer to 10:30 am on Monday, August 22. The trial has entered day 11.
Ryan Giggs was a successful Manchester United player, winning 11 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues with the club. He made 672 appearances for the club from 1990–2014, when he retired from football duties.
He was regarded as one of the most decorated players in Premier League history. Outside of his alleged bad character, he is a fantastic player and manager.
