Gerard Pique’s ex-wife Shakira has released a hit song about her ex-partner cheating on her and berating Pique’s new relationship.
The four minutes haranguing song ‘Out of your league’ has broken YouTube records after being viewed more than 63 million times in 24 hours.
The 35-year-old Barcelona legendary defender Gerard Pique has left football for the meantime, after retiring in November, but his breakup scandal with Shakira has refused to dwindle.
Currently, Shakira and Pique’s breakup tale is the news that has been making the headlines.
Since the duo got separated, the ‘hips don’t lie’ crooner Shakira’s music has embodied references to Pique, but never more so than in her latest release with Bizarrap.
Shakira got a lot off her mind in the diss track against ex-husband Gerard Pique and his girlfriend Clara Chia, as she seemingly reacted to their dismal relationship in her record-breaking song.
The Colombian she-wolf, Shakira featured Bizarrap to release “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” in response to her split from her ex-husband Pique after he cheated on her.
This four-minute pop single is the first time the Columbian popstar Shakira and Argentinian producer and DJ Bizarrap have worked together.
This is not her first song about the breakup as Monotonia came out three months ago, but this one was more of a heartbreak song than one striving for a payback.
In the untitled song from Music Sessions #53, the Columbian crooner tells the world Pique has swapped a Ferrari for a Twingo’ and ‘A she-wolf like me ain’t for guys like you’.
Also, in the soundtrack, Shakira laments about Pique’s new alleged 23-year-old spouse Clara Chia.
The Columbian crooner says she is “worth two 22-year-olds” and compares Pique’s new relationship to swapping “a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo” and a “Rolex for a Casio” in Spanish.
The Colombian musician also made references to the trouble she encountered with the Spanish authorities, who claimed she has failed to pay €14.5m (£12.8m) in income tax.
Shakira appears to reveal in the disc track that the former Barcelona star Pique left her while all this was going on.
Shakira criticized Pique’s workout technique too, singing he needs brain exercise more than workout “lots of time at the gym, but your brain needs a little work too”.
Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53″ is presently the No. 1 played single in the world on Spotify.
The song also broke a Latin music record for most listens in 24 hours since it was released on both YouTube and Spotify.
The video for ‘Out of Your League’ has been watched more than 63 million times in 24 hours, making it the most-watched Latin song in that period.
The 45-year-old Shakira, separated from the 35-year-old former Barcelona defender Pique, in 2022 after living for more than 10 years together.
The duo released a statement when they parted ways in June last year, saying they were focusing on co-parenting their children Milan, nine, and Sasha, aged seven.
Meanwhile, Gerard Pique has not responded to his ex-wife Shakira’s song that has been looming on the internet but has been seen posting about his new seven-a-side project, King’s League.
