Spanish defender Sergio Ramos has left his boyhood club, Sevilla, after a season at the club. He left the club by mutual agreement, and he is currently a free agent.
Sevilla confirmed his departure via a social media statement, saying, “Sergio Ramos has informed Sevilla FC that he will not continue next season with the Nervion club after having fulfilled his dream of returning to the club where he trained as a player and achieved full international status.”

The 38-year-old defender is expected to confirm his departure from the club in a press conference on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Ramos is a product of the Sevilla youth team before he moved to Real Madrid in 2005. At Real Madrid, the centre-back became a world-class player, winning four Champions League titles and five La Liga titles.
He left Real Madrid in 2021 before he proceeded to Paris Saint-Germain in the French league. Ramos spent two years at the Ligue 1 giant before making an emotional move to Sevilla in 2023, at the age of 37.
His return to Sevilla was not an interesting one for the player, with the majority of the fans not wanting him at the club, coupled with the fact that they were once on the verge of relegation.
