Former Barcelona striker sergio Kun Aguero has named Lamine Yamal as a better player than Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr.
In an interview, Aguero who played for Barcelona before he retired said, “In style of play, speaking of talent, Lamine has much more than Vinicius although Vinicius has more experience and is more of a player with titles won with Madrid.”
“Vinicius is one of the top 3 in the world but for age and talent, I prefer Lamine more.”
The former Argentina International, Aguero, continued by saying, “If it were up to me, I would have one on each side of my team and let the opponent pray. It’s like when Messi and Neymar were together.”
“Now Barca has Yamal and Madrid Vinicius, as well as Kylian Mbappe, even though he is more of a centre-forward.”
Aguero made this comment ahead of the El Clasico match on Saturday, October, 26, 2024.
Lamine Yamal and Vinicius Jr have faced each other four times for club and country. Three of those matches came in the El Clasico.
The fourth match between the two attackers came in international friendly where the match ended in a 3-3 draw.
Both wingers are hugely considered as among the best players who are likely to determine the outcome of the El Clasico.
Yamal is yet to win a game against Vinicius Jr as Barcelona lost three El Clasico matches last season.
Yamal, a Barcelona academy graduate, made his senior debut for Barcelona on April 2023 under the management of Xavi Hernandez.
He became a prominent starter for the Catalonia in the 2023-24 season.The Spaniard has scored 12 goals and created 16 assists in 64 appearances.
Meanwhile, Vinicius Jr moved to Real Madrid from Brazilian team Flamengo in 2018. Since then, he has scored 91 goals and created 82 assists for the Los Blancos.
Vinicius Jr is now the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or after he ended last season with the treble.
Comparing Lamine Yamal And Vinicius Stats
In the 2024/25 season, Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has scored five goals and created seven assists in all club competitions.
The Spaniard has scored four goals in the La Liga and a goal in the Champions League which came against Monaco.
Vinicius Jr, on the other hand, has scored eight goals and create seven assists in all competitions for the 2024-25 season.
Out of this eight goals scored, five were in the La Liga, and three in the Champions league.

Vinicius Jr is Real Madrid most important player this season scoring importance goals and creating chances in what appeared to be an extremely difficult situation.
Yamal has immensely contributed to Barcelona success this season. The Spaniard has been exceptional but referring to him as a better player than Vinicius Jr is totally absurd at this stage of his career.
Vinicius Jr is a clever, pacy and a goal scoring winger compared to Yamal. Also, the Brazilian is a better finisher compared to Yamal.
