Ex Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier left football fans in shock after scoring a stunning 25-Yards own goal.
Aurier, who is 30 years old, turned out for Ivory Coast in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Zambia.
An awesome defence-splitting pass was played through their backline with Aurier attempting to clear out the ball.
However, his effort cannoned off of his foot as he slipped under pressure from Rangers star Fashion Sakala.
He shot the ball towards goal, with goalie Charles Folly Ayayi failing to stop the ball from going into the net despite his save attempt.
The unusual and hilarious incident left fans in stitches, with a fan saying: “Keeper threw it into the net 😭😭😭.”
A second fan added: “Glad he’s still got that in his locker. Never change king.”
A third fan who wasn’t surprised at Sergie Aurier added: “Never change Serge Aurier lol.”
“That’s unreal😭😭,” the fourth fan added in the already hilarious comments on the own goal.
A fifth fan penned: “It was going to happen at some point in his career. Surprised he didn’t do it at Spurs… funny though.”
While the last one added: “Good old Serge… the gift that keeps on giving. Tho’ he seemed to play a lot better for Forest than he ever did for us!😂.”
Ivory Coast eventually lost the game 3-0 with Leicester’s Patson Daka and Kangwa both scoring in the second half.
