Vincent Kompany recently made the news after he was seen in viral footage cursing and having a face-off with Johann Berg Gudmundsson, one of his players at his former side Burnley during training.
Kompany was the manager of the Clarets between June 2022 to June 2024, and he helped the club secure promotion to the Premier League in the 2022/23 season.
Unfortunately, Burnley had a disastrous 2023/24 season and they were ultimately relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Despite the adversity, Vincent Kompany secured a big move to Bayern Munich in May 2024.
Kompany is currently handling the Bavarians and he is hoping to achieve success at the club.
Vincent Kompany Seen Swearing At Midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson
Meanwhile, Vincent Kompany was seen in the behind-the-scenes Sky documentary of his time at Burnley, swearing at midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson 15 times in less than one minute.
The documentary is named “Mission to Burnley” and it shows a very different side to the Belgian and one that required many bleeps.
Kompany could be heard yelling: “Joey, don’t f***ing test me.
“Do not f***ing test me. Enough of the f***ing moaning. Enough of the f***ing moaning. Play f***ing football. You’ve got to f***ing work for everything. F***ing play!
“How many times do I have to tell you? Stop f***ing moaning.”
Gudmundsson then shared what he had said, saying: “I just said, “can we finish that attack?”.
However, an agitated Kompany fired back: “No, you’re moaning about everything!” Gudmundsson asks: “What have I moaned about today?”
Kompany replied: “Body language is f***ing s*** and I’m not accepting it. Play! F***ing hell man.”
The row appears to be extinguished but Kompany then charges back towards Gudmundsson, shouting: “It’s f***ing life or death. F***ing play!”
Vincent Kompany subsequently stopped yelling at Gudmundsson and instead began muttering to himself: “F***ing… I’ve had a f***ing enough of this!”
This shows the Premier League great’s choleric nature and his manner of handling his side.
It could also offer an insight into his man-management skills, and it will be interesting to see how he fares at Bayern Munich.
Can Vincent Kompany Succeed At Bayern Munich?
At Bayern Munich, it is a different kettle of fish compared to managing Burnley, as he will be coaching bigger players and in like manner bigger egos.
He might likely not employ the approach he used with the Clarets, to whip his players into shape, as it could be counter-productive.
Vincent Kompany will be coaching players who were more successful than him during his playing days alongside players who are revered globally.
It appears his training methods has been welcomed heartily at Bayern Munich, as the Bavarian giants went unbeaten in pre-season.
They battered FC Rottach-Egern by 14-1, before playing out a 1-1 draw with Duren, and afterwards defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1.
Bayern Munich subsequently submerged Spurs 3-2 to win the Visit Malta Cup on August 10, 2024.
On August 13, 2024, the Bavarian giants beat WSG Tirol to conclude their 2024 Summer pre-season outing.
They return to action on August 16, 2024, trading tackles with Bundesliga 2 side Ulm, before commencing the 2024/25 German Bundesliga season with an away game against VFL Wolfsburg on August 25, 2024.
Definitely, if Kompany is in tune with his players and his tactics are excellent, he will have a great time at Bayern Munich.
