West Ham United striker Sébastien Haller has favoured a stay in the London club as he is not interested in leaving the club this summer.

This is following the failure of an offer for his service by Bundesliga side, Hertha BSC. The 26-year-old Frenchman had joined the East London club in a £45m deal from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.

He has failed to nail a starting shirt at the London Stadium and managed seven goals in his debut season in the Premier League. He lost his place in the starting lineup towards the end of the season as he failed to start a single game post-lockdown.

He has therefore struggled to make the kind of impact hoped compared to the huge amount paid for his service.

Sébastien Haller’s future in doubt at West Ham

Due to this, Haller’s future at West Ham remains a doubt. According to a source, which confirmed to 90min, the Frenchman has been made available for transfer after just one season. This is because the Hammers want to raise funds for manager David Moyes, who wants to do some business in the transfer market.

According to the report, the club is doing this to ensure it doesn’t find itself in another relegation battle in the coming season.

They are therefore seeing offloading Haller as an easy way to raise a significant fee. Hertha was the first club that shows any concrete interest as they are looking to replace Serie A-linked Krzysztof Piątek.

Haller is, however, in no rush to leave London and is very happy with life in England in general.

The Bundesliga club had offered a two-year loan but West Ham rejected it as they would prefer to sell the striker permanently for a fee close to the £45m they paid last summer.

It was also gathered that there is still plenty of interest in Haller, with reports suggesting Monaco being keen on the Frenchman.

Since he is not prepared to leave London, Haller is expected to reject all the offers and instead fight for his place at the club.

He will therefore be in another battle with Michail Antonio, who was moved into a central striker role post-lockdown. The English man responded with eight goals and one assist in just nine games. One of such top performance was a stunning four-goal haul against Norwich City.

Other players that could leave the club include Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson and versatile midfielder Declan Rice. Rice has been linked to Chelsea. Moyes might be looking to sell at least one of them to raise funds.
