North London club Arsenal, has been dealt with a low blow after their left-back Sead Kolasinac suffered an injury during their Premier League clash with Everton over the weekend. A mistake in Arsenal’s defense saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin struck with a fantastic overhead kick to give the Toffees the lead.

Half-way through the first half Kolasinac went down with what appears to be a shoulder injury and was walked off the field. The Bosnian international could be seen in serious distress as he departed the field. Bukayo Saka came off the bench to take Kolasinac place providing an assist to Eddie Nketiah’s equaliser.

Gabon international striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored two splendid goals giving his side the lead at the Emirates. The win gives the Gunners the chance to stay in the race for Champions League qualification.

In a post-match press conference after the match, when asked about Kolasinac injury, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta said:

“I don’t know, it looked bad. To be fair he was in a lot of pain but we will have to assess him tomorrow and see how he is. Hopefully not (a dislocated shoulder). He was in pain so I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that the Gunners will have to strive hard to fulfill Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s ambition if they have hopes of keeping the striker at the club.

With the Arsenal captain’s contract expiring at the end of next season, there has been uncertainty on whether the striker will stay at the North London club. The 30-year-old has been linked with a move to Spain in recent times. Barcelona is said to be top potentials interested in the former Dortmund player. The La Liga giants club director Eric Abidal recently confirmed Barca’s interest.

In a post-match conference after Everton’s match, Arteta said he hopes to convince the striker to stay at the North London club.

“They are completely right to want him because he is a superb player,” the Gunners boss said.

Arsenal is currently ninth place in the English Premier League with 37 points. Tenth place Burnely also has 37 points. In order for Arsenal to finish the top four, they would need to win all of their remaining games to catch up to fourth place Chelsea who currently has 44 points.

Sead Kolasinac broke appear to have broken his collarbone during the match against Everton at the Emirates stadium. He saw a doctor and they gave him a shoulder splint to support his shoulder. He is also expected to see a specialist in the coming days.
